Woodland's Productions Presents No Crime Like the Present

Woodland Productions will present No Crime Like The Present October 26, 27, 28 and November 2, 3, 4 at the Woodland Theatre in Kettle Falls. The play, written by Bill Gleason, is a witty, gritty and quite funny spin off of all the old crime dramas in early black and white TV.

The stage is set when a local TV news anchor is murdered. The plot thickens as a private detective interrogates every person in the cast, discovering they all have a motive including the station manager, Miles Hartley. Could it have been Stan Van, the weatherman? How about Everett Nelson, the town mayor, with a few secrets up his sleeve? Could it have been another anchorman vying for the top spot? Does Mrs. Big have an inside scoop?

"You be the judge" says director Johnna Woodruff , and watch the story unfold because there's "no crime like the present."

Tickets can be ordered now by phone by calling 684-8515 or, starting Oct 13th, tickets will be sold at the Colville Chamber of Commerce office at 121 E. Astor. Adults are $12.00, Seniors (over 65) and Students are $10.00. Opening night only, all seats are $8 per person. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances are at 3:00 p.m.

The North Columbia Monthly provides news, views, humor and a calendar of events for an area that stretches from Nelson in British Columbia south to Spokane in Washington State and covers all points in between. A free (and free-thinking, progressive) magazine, The Monthly is available at several hundred spots throughout the region and now is also available on-line at www.ncmonthly.com. Published once a month since 1994, The Monthly is an independent magazine that often challenges contemporary wisdom by encouraging critical thinking about issues and attitudes in the region and beyond.

Featuring our one-of-a-kind "What's Happening" department, The Monthly provides the region's only all-inclusive, free listing of community events and is the first place many people check to find out about area arts, crafts, music, fairs, services and events of all kinds. Our free listing policy for the "What's Happening" department promotes diversity, cultural interaction, and the exchange of ideas and free expression. Also featured in the magazine are people, food, health, humor, and feature articles that keep readers coming back for more each month.
